What Exactly did God Build? You will be Shocked to Find out.

My weekend musings on Hebrews 11:10

Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

WHATS THE FUSS ABOUT BUILDING?

Everything that must attain significance must be built. When you understand the importance of building and also what it takes to build, then you will not take for granted when life presents you an opportunity to invest for tomorrow.

Abraham in the scripture above understood this, so he didn’t look for any magical city that happened overnight but he looked for one that was built by God.

As an Architect, while I am doing a design, I am taking into consideration the building process, hence I go ahead to provide detailed drawings to enable the builder to build effectively. Because I understand that for my design to see the light of day and serve its purpose, then it must be built.

All through the scriptures, we find God the builder. The Psalmist tells us that except the Lord build a city that the workmen labor in vain. Then I must say the earth created in Genesis chapter 1 was built over time.

CREATION DAY vs EARTH DAY

This throws some light to the scientific claim of evolution of the earth. Science tells us that the evolution of the earth took billions of years to happen but the Bible tells us in Genesis 1 that it took God seven days to create or build the earth; in building science this is impossible.

This is where I need you to understand that there are to types of days in Genesis 1, they are:

1. The creation day
2. The earth day

The earth day is governed by sunrise and sunset which runs in a 24hrs clock time while the creation day runs in thousands of years. It was until the fourth creation day in Genesis 1:14 that God introduced the first earth day. So, we can clearly see two calendars with different calibrations running in Genesis 1. Refer to 2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4 for further reading.

So, it took God 7 creation days to build the earth including Adam.

WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING?

you need to sit down and build your marriage. It takes just one earth day to do a wedding but several creation/building days to get a marriage. This cancels out the idea of looking for a partner that was built for you before you can settle down. Any marriage, business, vision, dream that must last, must indeed be built and it doesn’t happen overnight.

If God had to take His time to build the earth, build man, build a city, then we too must cultivate the culture of building what we desire to see. No building is ever completed when it is abandoned.

Jesus said the storms will come, the flood and rain will come but the building founded upon the rock will always stand. When you get your foundations right no matter what you are building will always survive and come through the storm.

Join hands with your spouse and build your marriage, build your children, build your future and no matter what comes your way make sure you are building something based on the word of God.

CONCLUSION

This week, make up your mind to start building what ever you want to see in your life in the coming year. Your God is a builder and I am sure He is going to help you build as well.  Refer to Zechariah 4:9

Jesus can help you build and I can lead you to Him if you do not know Him. If you want to meet Jesus simply say this prayer with me: Father I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that Jesus has died for my sins. I believe in my heart that you have raised Him from the dead and I confess with my mouth right now that he is my savior therefore, I am saved In Jesus name, Amen.
